In an effort to keep SMS an effective communication channel by removing bad actors, major US carriers have recently introduced a new messaging standard known as 10dlc. As a result, all Rectxt customers must be compliant with these new standards in order to send messages. Customers who do not meet 10dlc standards will not be able to send text messages to their candidates.
Luckily, we take care of most of the hard work for you, but there are 3 critical tasks you must complete in order to be compliant with new 10dlc rules.
More information about 10DLC and how Rectxt has you covered can be found here.
Task 1: Fill registration form
Fill in our 10DLC registration form: https://form.jotform.com/230585960627060
Task 2: Update your company's privacy policy
Major carriers will use software to scan your privacy policy for compliance.
You can work with your legal counsel to create a 10dlc compliant clause, or you can add this templated clause to your Privacy policy:
SMS terms:
{Legal name}, also known as {DBA name} offers you the option to engage in SMS text conversations about your job application. By participating, you also understand that message frequency may vary depending on the status of your job application, and that message and data rates may apply. Please consult your carrier for further information on applicable rates and fees. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help.
By opting-in to receiving SMS text messages about your job application, you acknowledge and agree that your consent data, mobile number, and personal information will be collected and stored solely for the purpose of providing you with updates and information related to your job application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and shall not share or sell your consent data, mobile numbers, or personal information to third parties under any circumstances.
Task 3: Implement an opt-in method for your candidates
You need to give candidates a way to opt-in to receiving text messages about their job application. Work with your ATS administrator to create a check box/custom question on your job board that candidates must tick when they submit their application.
IMPORTANT: the following text MUST be displayed with your specific link to your privacy policy:
"By checking this box, you agree to receive mobile messages from us in relation to this job application. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. View our Privacy & SMS Policy: https://example.com"
